TONY'S IDEA: Video technology that connects tourism suppliers with their DMO
+ What is your name?

+ Where are you located?
Australia
+ In one sentence, tell us about your idea.
At Videreo we want to connect tourism suppliers with those who can support them by making telling their stories with video simple.
+ Describe your ideal collaborative partner or partners.
I'm looking for forward-thinking Destination Marketing Organizations who want to support their supplier market equitably through cutting-edge video technology. We’ve created the tech to make it simple to showcase suppliers’ stories through videos already made for social media, but now featured directly on the DMO site.
+ What is the most immediate or most pressing challenge you're facing right now?
We want to do a Proof-of-Concept trial with a DMO and are looking for someone brave to go first.
+ What is it about your idea that makes you feel good?
Our idea has the potential to bring more direct customers to grassroots suppliers of tourism—the small businesses that make the tourism experience magical.
+ What makes your idea innovative? Why has no one ever done it before?
Video integration with websites and apps has traditionally required complex manual workflows. With our technology, suppliers can display scrollable vertical videos in a way that mirrors social media, but directly on the DMO’s platform. Most businesses already have content; now they just need a valuable place to showcase it.
+ Who will benefit the most from your idea?
DMOs get best-practice marketing tools with elegant vertical video displays, while suppliers get their stories told in their own voice with direct booking links.
+ At Sigmund, we are interested in ideas at the intersection of People, Planet, and Profit. How does your idea support these three categories?
People:
Our goal is to get the bulk of the benefits of tourism down to grassroots suppliers and those they support. By creating a direct link through the DMO to the supplier, we cut out middlemen and their commissions, ensuring that the local community benefits more directly.
Planet:
We believe that well-managed tourism has the potential to provide decent livelihoods for people and create great places to live as well as visit. Grassroots suppliers are typically closer to their communities and more conscious of the environmental and social impacts, but they often struggle to have their voices heard in marketing.
Profit:
We are a for-profit organization, but it is important to us that we make money in a way that serves a higher purpose. If everyone in the tourism supply chain isn't benefiting fairly, then we believe we aren't truly winning either.
+ Ideally, when would you launch this idea?
I've already launched my idea.
+ Indicate which UN goals your idea relates to?
