+ In one sentence, tell us about your idea.
NoSolo connects solo travelers visiting new cities to shared-dining experiences, turning solitary meals into opportunities for friendship and cultural exchange.
+ Describe your ideal collaborative partner or partners.
My ideal collaborative partner or partners would be people who have launched something like this in the past to help me get to the next stage.
+ What is the most immediate or most pressing challenge you're facing right now?
Marketing: 1) I have been organizing dinners but only reach digital nomads and they have not wanted to come and pay the $5. 2) It is hard to get in front of solo
travelers who may travel once or twice a year. They aren't on the whatsapp or Meetup. They may be on Facebook travel groups, but I'm not sure if that is enough
people to grow. I may have to get payment by business partners instead of diners. If this is the case I will limit the company to 1-2 cities since relationships will matter
more. 3) It may also be that I am reaching enough people but they don't think the idea of 6 strangers having dinner and free flow conversation is enough. 4) Business
travelers could be a whole new frontier.
+ What is it about your idea that makes you feel good?
When I discuss this with people, I usually get very positive responses. It is a real need and I don't see any organization doing this with this audience specifically.
+ What makes your idea innovative? Why has no one ever done it before?
I don't think any organization has done this for these audiences. There is a popular app called Timeleft which does 6-person dinners with strangers but it is for locals
who are easier to reach. There are apps that connect travelers but they don't coordinate people as well because too much is left for them to plan.
+ Who will benefit the most from your idea?
Solo travelers, digital nomads, expats, locals interested in cultural and language exchange, local restaurants, cities and enterprises that want to improve the tourist
experience
+ At Sigmund, we are interested in ideas at the intersection of People, Planet, and Profit. How does your idea support these three categories?
People...
NoSolo eliminates the loneliness that can come from experiencing new places alone. It helps travelers create memories that elevate a trip from simply visiting a
location to truly connecting with it.
Planet...
NoSolo helps improve the tourist experience without causing any environmental destruction or adding waste.
Profit...
NoSolo benefits local restaurant and tourism industries by attracting visitors.
+ Ideally, when would you launch this idea?
