I have an idea to reduce the plastic usage in Hospitality.

I am looking for people who are in Hospitality industry all over the world and who want to contribute in sustainable solutions. I would appreciate and welcome new ideas and thoughts which can be implemented in Hospitality.

In regards to finding the right collaborator, what is the most immediate or most pressing challenge you're facing right now?

To get in touch with correct individuals and getting a response from hospitality professionals(because mainly people avoid to be a part of discussion if it is already been followed in their organization) is my biggest challenge.

BONUS QUESTION: What is it about your idea that makes you feel good?

I think coming with an idea for sustainable solution is in itself a great feeling and sharing with others and getting reverts about is the biggest achievement because it means that you are being noted.

What makes your idea innovative? Why has no one ever done it before?

My idea is simple by reducing the plastic usage in Hospitality in terms of straws, disposable cutlery, cling wrap and many other areas where one uses them. I think that we should implement certain rules to offer straws on side and not inside the drink. I think that we can even implement sustainability in the table by mentioning in the table top by simply informing to use straws when required. We can start using paper straws. We can even start using bamboo straws which can be reused.

Who will benefit the most from your idea?

Our nature because we will be going a step ahead to implement sustainability. Local people who can get a source of income. Farmers because they will be earning extra apart from their crops. People who will use implement these ideas as it will be a one time investment.

By this idea local people will get some work. As we will be using biodegradable sources we will be working on sustainability. It will be a single investment because bamboo straws can be reused.
