Expression of Interest - Broken River Ecotourism Precinct
Dept of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation (DETSI) - Queensland
Queensland Government EOI to revitalise the Broken River platypus-watching ecotourism precinct in Eungella National Park — a rare greenfield nature-based tourism development opportunity.
The Queensland Government invites Expressions of Interest for the revitalisation of the Broken River Ecotourism Precinct within Eungella National Park, approximately 80 minutes west of Mackay in North Queensland. The EOI seeks operators or developers to build on the site's existing infrastructure — including platypus viewing platforms, rainforest walking trails, camping areas, and day-use facilities — to create a leading nature-based ecotourism destination. Submissions can range from full site redevelopment to guided tour operations, with potential to be listed as one of Queensland's prestigious 45 by 45 projects.
