… locals that are willing to support our project with their products, like small farmer shops, or locals who want to contribute to the creation of the network, either financially or phyiscally. But this includes also directly contributing labour, as for instance architects planning tiny houses, or IT-students helping with the development of the app. Moreover, we are looking for experts that have experience in launching a business.

In regards to finding the right collaborator, what is the most immediate or most pressing challenge you're facing right now?

In the first instance, we need to create a network of unique tiny houses. Furthermore, we are looking for a whole network of suppliers, labors and supporters for each tiny house (including the surrounding cities and villages), which is on the one hand individual and unique but on the other hand represents the originality of the respective destinations.

BONUS QUESTION: What is it about your idea that makes you feel good?

Arthur is a future-oriented, adaptable network that applies to many UN-SDGs, supports sustainable travel strategies and helps to present a destination in an authentic way. It provides memorable experiences to the guests and offers great opportunities to create an individual roadtrip and meet everyone’s needs, interests and expectations. Arthur also aims to support and empower locals and their businesses.

What makes your idea innovative? Why has no one ever done it before?

Arthur combines all important, global future trends: sustainability, digitalization, experience-driven products, individuality and connection. It is going to be a complex project including lot’s of components but that’s what creates value for the guests and all stakeholders.

Due to the wide-spread network throughout a whole destination all stakeholders (locals, small businesses, transportation companies etc.) will benefit in relation to their input (the more they offer in relation to their size, the more they will benefit)

At Sigmund, we are interested in ideas at the intersection of People, Planet, and Profit. How does your idea support these three categories?

People: we give locals the possibility to collaborate with us and we empower local businesses as they are a crucial component in our project. All products and services of our local partners are listed and promoted in our app. Planet: we try to build ecofriendly tiny houses and promote sustainable travel methods. Aviation is not a part of our product. Moreover, we want to ensure that a lot of sites are accessible by public transport. Profit: the revenue and benefit for each stakeholder is based on their own input, effort and support. The profit is mostly provided directly by the guests as they consume their services and products (e.g. eat at a restaurant, attend an event, visit an attraction). Architects and labors are paid fairly and we support their needs and expectations. The Arthur-team is receiving the revenue from the bookings of the roadtrips. Prices are scaled depending on the duration of the stay and the amount of visited tiny houses. The service fee for the app is included.
