WILLIAM'S IDEA: Youth Tourism Training Centre in South Africa
Looking for National Tourism Bodies in Africa, Sponsors, Investors (or Other) that can assist me in taking this program to the next level, through securing program accreditations, facilities, marketing avenues and investors.
+ What is your name?

+ Are you submitting as a team or as an individual?
Individual submission
+ Where are you located?
South Africa
+ In one sentence, tell us about your idea.
I have created a Concept Plan which is a 6 month intensive and holistic approach to an ( 'On the Job' ) Youth Development Tourism Training Program, that will expose youth to many different tourism sectors (under one roof) in a live environment. The vision is to stimulate and create a new generation of tourism entrepreneurs.
+ Describe your ideal collaborative partner or partners.
I would love to connect, collaborate or partner with governments, tourism bodies, property owners in a toruism environment (eg Safari Lodges, resorts etc)
+ What is the most immediate or most pressing challenge you're facing right now?
To secure a ' Live Training Centre ' for the pilot program. Ideally an existing Safari Lodge (perhaps a facility that has suffered financially during the Covid crisis and face potential closure or ruin) or land in a wildlife wilderness area with potential tourism opportunities, where we could set up the Live Training Centre. In such a case we would need to secure finances to finance the purchase of assets such as vehicles, accommodation etc. to run the program.
+ What is it about your idea that makes you feel good?
Ensuring we stimulate and create a new breed of Young Entrepreneurs that will take World Tourism especially in the rural areas of the world to another level.
+ Ideally, when would you launch this idea?
In a year
+ At Sigmund, we are interested in ideas at the intersection of People, Planet, and Profit. How does your idea relate to these three categories?
This program is definitely about the people and for the people with the youth at the helm. Ultimately this program will allow more world travelers to be exposed to the massive benefits, cultures, beauty, and fragility of our rural areas and will encourage and incentivize those living in these rural areas to continue to preserve their heritage for their children through well managed tourism programs that uplift communities.
